(2) Systems Analysts

ABOUT THE GIG:

Our client requires two (2) Systems Analysts to capture and document all required business related information for a project. The Analysts will be working on the modernization of vehicle registration project MVR.

 REQUIRED SKILLS: The ideal candidate must have:

  • Experience working in Windows, SQL Server , Mainframe/MVS, /DC, SAE, J2EE/Oracle environments
  • Knowledge and experience with Zachman Framework (Rows 1 – 3)
  • Experience with SOA architecture
  • Knowledge with SDLC and structured methodologies waterfall and iterative
  • Demonstrable experience with Business Object Oriented Modeling, UML tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience with requirement management tools (i.e. Sybase Power Designer)
  • Demonstrable skills and experience with documenting deliverables outlined in Deliverables section
  • Examples of documents for which the candidate had lead responsibility must be provided, if requested
  • Work Experience in investigating, analyzing, estimating system applications in a large integrated mainframe and mid-tier environment
  • Proven experience with all stages of automated system implementation in complex mainframe, with online and batch transactions
  • Proven experience with JAD facilitation, interpret business needs to technical requirements, project meetings for reviews
  • Proven ability to perform successfully in completing an assignment of this nature, magnitude and complexity
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills, verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in project management, negotiation, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • A team player with the ability to coordinate multiple projects with competing priorities and strict deadlines
  • Proven ability in completing an assignment of this nature

 NICE TO HAVE:

  • Ideally, the candidate should have worked with similar type of projects with first-hand experiences;
  • Experience with the MTO RUS architecture; Demonstrable knowledge of RUS applications, databases and systems;
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in working in accordance with policies and procedures of Ontario Public Service

 DELIVERABLES: What would prepare you for success on our team?

  • Provides specialized technical expertise in the overall analysis of the design and architecture of systems solutions. Evaluates recommendations and ensures all recommended solutions for improvement are congruent with the project goals and objectives
  • Design, code, test, debug and document applications, using Weblogic, Java Technology ( EJB3, JPA, JCA, JAXB), Castor, XML, Oracle, Power Designer, Web Services, JSP and Struts.
  • Knowledge with SDLC and structured methodologies waterfall and iterative
  • Demonstrable experience with Business Object Oriented Modeling, UML tools and techniques.
  • Identifies short and long-term project goals/objectives, and as a senior technical expert, defines and identifies program and service delivery requirements in support of the development and/or acquisition of client applications
  • Leads the analysis, development and documentation of design and architecture of systems solutions. Leads the development of testing, integration and implementation of systems solutions into the clients’ applications
  • Guides the feasibility studies and cost effective analyses of proposed client I&IT initiatives, ensures all studies and analyses are documented
  • Leads the technical aspects of projects related to the development and/or acquisition of a diverse range of client applications through all stages of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This includes planning, scheduling and estimating resources, providing technical expertise, co-ordination, monitoring progress and providing management with project status updates
  • Oversees the research and evaluation of the technical components in the acquisition of software, hardware, technology, systems and products
  • Recommends and directs the measurement and improvement of tools, techniques, standards and performance criteria to control the quality of application development initiatives
  • Provides coaching and direction to junior analysts throughout the project, related to the development and/or acquisition of a diverse range of client applications through all stages of the Systems Development Life Cycle.

  • Other artefacts as determined by the project.
  • Support development and Test teams in following areas:
  • Defining the integration test plan
  • Defining the user acceptance test plan
  • Identification and resolution of problems/issues.
  • Document and manage risks and liaise with other project teams to coordinate project interdependencies.
  • Documentation of all artefacts in a shared project library.
